About the Tracker
How ElectionLab calculates the primary average
ElectionLab combines published national primary polls using a weighted average. Newer surveys receive more influence than older surveys, while larger sample sizes and higher-quality pollsters also receive additional weight.
Candidate averages are recalculated automatically whenever a published poll is added through the ElectionLab admin portal.
